Defining E-Learning

This quote from the week one learning guide was very informative for me:

"One definition of e-learning is

E-learning covers a spectrum of activities from supporting learning to blended learning (the combining of traditional learning and e-learning). Whatever the technology, however, learning is the vital element.
e-learning is no longer simply associated with distance or remote learning, but forms part of a conscious choice of the best and most appropriate ways of promoting effective learning.

JISC, quoted by NZ Ministry of Education." (Hunt, 2010, Some ideas of e-learning, Para 1).

It is always good to begin with a definition as then we know we are on the same page and understanding things in the same way. I have posted this definition mainly as a reminder for myself, a reminder that I can easily refer back to.
